Is Governor Sanwoolu a toothless bulldog in Lagos?

Lagos, no doubt, is the economic center of Nigeria, and if Nigeria must survive, its survival starts from Lagos.

Lagos has the nationality of all Nigerians, and Lagos is a reflection of Nigeria as a country. Most of the jobs and businesses in Nigeria are situated in Lagos.

Lagos is as rich as Nigeria. In fact, more revenue is internally generated in Lagos than any state in Nigeria aside from oil, but my question is who is asking Governor of Lagos State, Sanwoolu what’s happening to Lagos money running to billions every month that Lagos as a state could not cushion the effect of subsidy removal by providing more buses, more reduced means of transportation for people in Lagos State.

Gov. Sanwoolu should also tell Lagosians what happened to billion of Naira generated in Lagos every day. The train that was opened in Lagos but not working till today, was is just to deceive Nigerians and Lagosians, which ordinarily would have helped cost of transportation and also means of transportation?

Is it that Mr Sanwoolu is just a ceremonial governor who has no power in making decisions to benefit the people of the state he governs?

If states like Bayelsa can roll out more than 100 cars and buses, other states increasing minimum wages, then what’s a state like Lagos that makes billions daily from Nigerians doing to help Lagosians that drives Nigeria economy? Let us ask Gov. Sanwoolu of Lagos State.

Government is about the people and every government either at the federal or state level must put people oriented policy first and how to make people’s lives better than harder.

Those in government must always learn to do right and take the interest of Nigerian people first if their administration must succeed. And Lagosians deserve better than the APC and Sanwoolu led government is treating them at the moment.

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Ameliorate The Suffering, Do No Increase The Pains, Imo Guber For NRM Tells FG

By; Linus Ike Okeke

The frontline candidate for the November 11th governorship poll, Dr. Lawrence Cole Okwara has condemned the recent fuel pump price hike by the All Progressive Congress led Federal Government ..

Dr.Okwara made his views known when delegates from three major groups from Imo state paid paid him a solidary and thank you visit .

According to the sports administrator turned politician, what Nigerians need now and expect the Federal government to do is to ensure that prices of food stuffs come down while the Federal Government diversify the economy in order to reduce over reliance on petroleum.

Dr.Okwara also lampooned the government for not providing palliatives to cushion the effects of the initial price hike before this further increment.

“I think that the Federal Government should have provided buses, made available other means such as provision of fertilizers for farmers, accessible loan facilities for market men and women in order to cushion the initial removal of subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu .

“That apart, the government should seek for other ways of generating revenues and there are many ways to do that. FG can encourage the setting up of agrobase industries, invest in Digital, ICT training of Young people and export of sports talents and many other.

If they want to develop the economy, they should contact us at the National Rescue Movement NRM and we shall do a free consultancy for them, he added .

Dr Okwara who is running for Imo Governorship under the platform of National Rescue Movement, further revealed that, he will take immediate and definite measures to alleviate the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy, something which Hope Uzodinma should have done, he said .

Responding, the leader of Imo Youths Development Forum, Mazi Okereke Ohabunwa said that the groups came to thank Dr Okwara for being a pillar of hope to Imo youths and for his philanthropic activities .
Mazi Ohabunwa further pledged the allegiance of the groups to the NRM candidate.

Speaking in the same manner, the President General of Igbo Women Market Development Association, Lolo Felicia Ejikeme added, they came to identify with the governorship ambition of Dr Okwara and that women from all parts of Imo are set and waiting to cast their votes for the sports administrator whose major agenda targeted the most vulnerable people-Youths and women and persons with disabilities .

How Long More Can the Vulnerable People of Nigeria Persevere from APC Government Led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu?

Almost two months after the removal of subsidy, life has been no doubt hell on earth for average Nigerians who kept seeing prices of transportation, goods and services, everything skyrocketing by the day.
For the very first time in Nigeria, traffic reduced on all major roads of Nigeria as many Nigerians can no longer afford to put their vehicles on the road again owing to fuel hike everyday.

Nigerians don’t even know what to believe again. The government that says shipment of petroleum product is coming in to the country and that will lead to reduction in petroleum prices, only to see prices of petroleum moving from N540 to over N617. Or should we talk of the government who promised a unification of currency for both banks and black marketers but kept seeiing the prices of foreign currencies going up against the naira by the day. Dollar moved from N460 bank rate to over N800 in a nation where naira is not acceptable to trade in Foerign market.

Which one would Nigerians believe again from a government that claimed to have saved over N1 trillion from subsidy removal, yet borrowing more money, not for projects but to share with its political class.

What again can Nigerians believe from government that claimed they were not increasing salary for lawmakers, then turned around to give them N70 billion overnight?

What Else can we believe from a government that promised “renewed hope” to Nigerians only to show up with a policy of N8k to 12 million unknown Nigerians?

Many questions begging for urgent answers, but we will continue to ask President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration, until they do the right thing for Nigerians.

Without gainsay, we all know that Nigerians are going through a lot.
Nigerians have been praying and it seems manna won’t fall from no where. So many Nigerians are running abroad thinking to escape or “Japa” as many call it; only to find out that it is not as easy as they thought it would have been.

Many Nigerians are in some nations of the world you won’t even expect a Nigerian to go; because they just want to survive.

Nigerians are the most versatile, hardworking, dedicated, rugged and enduring people in the globe, but I hope some day soon this the government won’t push them to the wall:
Endsars happened few years ago because Nigerians were tired of brutality, unpleasant treatments of Nigerian people, and most importantly, the workforce of Nigeria, the youths

I want to remind the players in the President Tinubu lead administration that Nigerians are hurting, Nigerians are dying of hunger, poverty, hardship. Hence, I again appeal that this administration need to as a matter of importance do something before things get out of control. That’s the essence of government: to find ways to make life better and bearable for the citizens. But unfortunately, the reverse is the case right now for Nigerians.

We want this government to succeed, but the players must be proactive and sensitive to the needs of the people and prioritize Nigerians’ needs above anything.

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

My Open Questions to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr. President, reports have it that your government so far saved over N1 trillion on subsidy removal, so then where is the money saved? Why do we have to go and borrow $800 million equivalent of N500 billion when we have N1 trillion saved already?

I hope all Nigerians would ask this same question too so that we can understand who is fooling who or maybe there’s something we are missing here.

Secondly, Mr President sir, you have tactically in our own eyes without blinking or negotiation increased allowances to your Lawmakers by giving them N70 Billion that we have no breakdown of what it is for, except for helping them in Constituency duties as your government puts it. It took you and the Lawmakers less than 48hrs to agree and passed the appropriation bills, so why has it taken your government more than 40days now and counting, to increase salaries for poor Nigerian workers who have been on N33k minimum wage even in the midst of inflation like the one the World has even known that we have going on in Nigeria presently?

Thirdly, Mr. President, you said you are unifying naira and dollar exchange rates, today dollar is sold for over N800 to a dollar, is unification to push naira up your agenda which in turn gives more money to same black marketers who are already making so much before now or you want Nigerians to actually benefit from your dollar unification? As it is today, Nigerians are hurting especially for those who have to do business in dollar amd change naira to dollar.

Finally, Mr. President, what’s your breakdown of how you are going to share your N8k palliative to 12 million out of 200 million Nigerians? Out of 200 million Nigerians, I am very sure that statistics will show you that 198 million Nigerians fall below the poverty line for real, so how would you pick 12 million out of that?

Please I would appreciate response Mr President. And I am sure many Nigerians are reading and also nodding their heads, waiting for answer to the pertinent questions.

Signed:
Faduri O. Joseph

NRM Guber Candidate In Imo Dr Lawrence Cole Okwara Gains More Traction

The political terrain in Imo State has opened up as a major challenger to Governor Hope Uzodinma and the All Progressive Congress ( APC ) has emerged in the run up to the November 11 Gubernatorial polls in the state .

The growing popularity of Lawrence Cole Okwara in Imo state by electorates is causing major concern to all the political players in
the upcoming election especially Governor Hope Uzodinma

The candidate of National Rescue Movement,( NRM) Okwara has been one of the younger generation in the political landscape of the state and the country with an impressive and intimidating career as a sports administrator, agent and a soccer coach. Dr.Okwara has invested over 30 years into sports administration home and abroad.

His impact in the lives of young Imolites is unmeasurable. He is one of the most successful sports managers in Africa who sponsored and mentors lots of the super Eagles players and employed and helped establish many Nigerians in South Africa were he had lived for over 30 years.

Similarly, he has invested much years and capital in politics at national level and state levels .Before becoming the Gubernatorial Candidate of Imo state under the NRM, he was the Diaspora Chairman of the NRM, a post he used to maximise the profile and financial status of the party .

Incidentally,as a former footballer, coach and administrator, the graduate of Boston College, the IMO born politician have discovered many talents in football, Volleyball and basket ball ensuring they got sponsorships to various schools overseas while plying their professions

As the November 11 polls in Imo inches closer, youths, women, farmers, business men and women have also inched their political preferences to the Governorship candidate of the NRM.
Okwara’s masterplan made available to by his chief strategist, Pastor Shedrach Oka, involves bringing technological development to Imo by ensuring digital training for youths and creating employment opportunities in that sector.

Oka revealed further that curbing graduate unemployment which have been a source of concern to successive governments in the state is a focal point that would be adequately tackled by an Okwara led government in Imo.
Using consortium of South Korean, Singaporean and Chinese companies, Oka added that graduates would be trained in agrobased field and given startup packs .

According to Oka, youths, women and the aged are well encased in Okwara’s masterplan for Imo nonetheless, care is being taken not to give out much to the advantage of other parties.

Tired of the endless circle of poverty, violence and government insensitivity, Imolites seem to have their eyes fixed on Dr.Okwara as credible alternative for good governance and democratic leadership

Mazi Anthony Odirra, a political commentator and native of Ahiara explained
“The people of Imo have lost hope in both the APC and PDP, as such they are willing to give Okwara a good chance to turn IMO state to

“Come November, I don’t see APC or PDP, I see Okwara and the NRM .

Bridget Udenta, an unemployed graduate of Imo State University was more succint, I will cast my vote for NRM because, there is nothing that the others parties have to offer to us the youths.

INEC CHAIR; AYCF Raps Labour Party Over Calls For Yakubu’s Resignation

Odeh Agaba

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF has knocked the Labour Party for calling for the sacking of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, saying they are bad losers and intolerant players.

The AYCF noted that from the outset of the presidential election the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and his supporters never accepted the fundamental truth that losing is always possible.

If Peter Obi and his Labour Party are not willing to accept the possibility that they might be defeated, then they should not be running for office in the first place,” AYCF said in a statement by its President, Yarima Shettima.

AYCF said LP and Obi are not happy that the INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, has lived up to his commitment to a credible and verifiable election process supported by technology, which guaranteed transparent accreditation and upload of polling unit results for citizens to view in real-time on election day.”

The fact that LP and their supporters have given themselves the false hope that tried to guarantee victory for Obi long before the elections, explains why they are still unhappy that the deployment of a Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) were made sacrosanct by the INEC chairman.

“Many stakeholders, except of course, Obi and LP, considered it a game changer in Nigeria’s electoral process for Yakubu to have gone to such great lengths to deploy technology for the purpose of restoring integrity to the ballot box in Nigeria.

“It is not surprising that no matter how credible the 2023 February elections turned out to be, bad losers like Obi would opt to discredit the outcome and imperil democracy,” Shettima said.

He warned that it is essential that candidates and their parties – as well as all their supporters seeking to help them win election – refrain from brash assertions of victory that suggest defeat is only possible if there is fraud.

Fix Nigerian Refinery: instead of Palliating us with N8k.

The news of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu plan to borrow a loan from World Bank to give 12 million Nigerians N8k monthly for a few months as palliative, no doubt, is a Laughable policy.
I would have thought that Mr President had learnt from his predecessor Who spent more than 500millions distributing N5k in the past ro many millions of Nigeria that till date we do not have their data or information of how many Nigerians benefited from such a failed exercise
To have such coming from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not only alarming but disappointing, it is a policy that never worked in the past l.

Your Excellency, how have you arrived at your 12 million number selection? Nigeria is divided into the North and South. Are we having 6 million from the North and 6 million from the South? Or since we have 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria in the spirit of federal character ,are you deriving your 12 million from 2 million each zone? What criteria and modus operandi are you going to use to pick the 12 million? Obviously, it’s a policy that’s going to fail because such has failed before. It will end up being a handout to your fellow party members..
In all seriousness, sir, N8k will only make the life of Nigerians worse, not better . Cost of food is skyrocketed times 3 already in our Nation, N8k can not feed a family of 3 in a day so how do we arrive at such policy and see it as a policy to help poor Nigerians
With all seriousness, Mr President, Nigerians can want for another few months if tou can put this N500-billion to repair our refinery even if it’s only one within 6 months the resultant effect of this is that once we have refinery working it will increase our oil production and export, thereby increase our earnings and reduced price of fuel back home. It will help our currency gain more power in the world market, and fuel at home will sell for half the price or even less that we have it today.
This would be my humble advice to you Mr President than a political palliative that will only benefit your acronyms but not the larger Nigerian people who are suffering from abject poverty all across the country..
Some of us want your government to succeed .
Your palliative program to farmers, if properly followed thru, is a laudable plan. The more help the farmers can get and more people encourage into farming will help our economy less dependent on import.
It is so sad that this N500biilion been sorted by Mr President N70b is going to National assembly which means salary and palliative increase for the National assembly whilst ordinary workers in Nigeria are not included in all your palliative.
Nigerians should ask Mr President if this is palliative indeed or just a hand out to lawmakers and politicians and members of APC.
There’s no sincerity in this appropriation and it’s implementation it’s as woeful as the policy itself
Nigeria is sitting on a gun powder and the gun powder may burst some day if things continue to degenerate ans those in govt are insensitive to the needs of ordinary Nigerians.
Many more Nigerians should speak out and we should all condemn this acts
Nigerian need long sort solutions not short cut that we keep looking for every day.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
